I am a fan of centerpieces.
Especially pretty ones that can save me from having to get up once I am sitting down with my fork in my hand.
You know how they say not to bother a dog while it is eating or else it might get territorial or angry and bite your face off? Same goes for me.
So, I keep some things on the table cuz I'm NOT getting up to get them.....
.....I will use my fingers as utensils before I let another five seconds get between me and my food.
Maybe that's a bit of a stretch but some days, not really.
I would also like to leave extra plates and glasses like this:
and I would also like to install a magic water fountain in the center of the table that my daughter can reach so that when I forget to get her a drink (which I always do because my brain likes to deny the fact that there is a little person in our house with needs) and then she can just reach over and get it herself from the magic water fountain! AND I can get the Mother of the Year Award!
I do love some relaxed and easy feeling decor on my table. Like this:
But, I had to face the facts. Contrary to popular belief, patience DOES NOT come with age, at least not for me, so as much as I think that I want to have pretty centerpieces, I just can't. I will still shop for them because I can't help it, but I have to keep things simple and useful. If you're similar to me, first of all, I'm sorry, because I'm not sure that there is help for us and our lack of patience. Second of all, now you have some inspiration and permission to leave silverware on the table!
You're welcome!!
You are so funny! Love the first photo.
ReplyDeleteI love centerpieces. I may be the only person I know that wishes she had a formal dining room for that purpose!
