I was dying to do a space where I could incorporate menswear and then the opportunity presented itself! My brother-in-laws, Andrew and Dominic, recently got their first place in Chicago and Andrew asked me to help him out with his room. I was thrilled! He isn't your typical guy who could care less about how his place looks. He appreciates design and has great taste. It's been a lot of fun working with him. I don't have to pry his opinions out of him and he values my advice even if it does mean spending a little bit more money because he knows I'm worth it! You won't find cardboard boxes as a nightstand at this guys place!

Here is what we have so far:

The MALM bed from Ikea

Since we couldn't find a menswear inspired duvet in the colors we wanted for under $180 I am custom making it with some fabric I found at a discount. Here is a little peak:

All the wrinkles were free!

Yeah, we're on a budget, but it doesn't need to look like it :)

Can't wait to show you all the rest! The inspiration board is coming up next!

Happy Tuesday!

  3. I love the West Elm spaces! I got here from Rachel at It's Simple Love. And I was thinking how much I adore your feminine ruffly pillows! :) So it's funny that I came smack in the middle of these chill menswear spaces! Happy to have found you!

  6. Love these. When my husband and I got our first apartment together we shopped for bedding that we both could live with. He liked a Ralph Lauren comforter that was charcoal gray with white pin stripes on one side and reversed to white with a charcoal pinstripe on the back. If we had held on to that comforter, it would still look fresh today. I love a masculine style in a bedroom.
